“What is my relationship to this moment”
we instantly have the opportunity to make conscious unseen thought patterns and resistances that cause unneeded suffering.
This is a course on relationship, we are not pointing toward romantic relationship. We are pointing toward all relationship.
Everything in existence is relationship, all experience is relationship. In the moment a thought arises, we are in relationship to that thought. In the moment a feeling arises we are in relationship to that feeling.
The moment we perceive an object/person/being outside of ourselves, we are in relationship.
In this course we will be discussing and making conscious our relationship to life.
So often as human beings the way we relate to our experience is nothing more than an unconscious automatic conditioned response.
Usually involving shoulds, shouldn'ts, resistance and judgement.
Our relationship to life is usually one of fighting against experience, of continuously wanting a different experience than the one we are having.
This unconscious resistance is a cause of much unneeded suffering. Our relationship to the present moment actually dictates how we will experience it. As “someone” put so perfectly “if you want a chicken to be a duck and a duck to be a chicken you will suffer”.
